The fashion industry has a huge impact on today's economy. In fact, treehugger.com says that in 2010, the world's clothing and textile industry, inculding clothing, textiles, footwear, and luxary goods, reached almost $2,560 trillion. Every year, New York Fashion Week attracts 232,000 attendees, funneling in $20 million. Needless to say, Americans love fashion. When we as Americans purchase clothing, it is not often that we question where these garments come from.
